How does a PIV work?
PIV, or Positive Input Ventilation, replaces stale unhealthy air in your property with fresh, dry filtered air. By increasing the circulation of air mould spores are prevented from settling. This process forces the damp, stale air out of your property through specially installed vents. In winter, the clean air, usually taken from the loft, is gently heated so it matches the temperature inside your property.
Is PIV energy efficient?
Yes, a PIV is an energy efficient whole house ventilation and condensation control system. The running costs are typically 2p-3p per day of electricity, that's about £7.30 per year! When you compare that to the average cost of 21p to boil an electric kettle its minuscule.
Are PIV systems noisy?
One of the biggest complaints about fans in general is their noise. Rest assured our PIV systems are whisper quiet. While operating at normal speed, the unit will be practically inaudible.
How long does it take to install a PIV?
Our basic entry level systems take just a few hours to install. More complex whole-house systems do take a bit longer.
How long will it take for the unit to show results?
Depending on the size of your property, it will take no more than a couple of days to see results. In areas badly affected by mould infestation it can take a few weeks to dry out.
Will a PIV remove mould?
A PIV will only prevent mould from developing. If you have any existing before PIV installation.
